The Los Feliz Neighborhood Council's Housing Committee has compiled a list of resources for renters facing or may be vulnerable to eviction, property owners, and landlords!
For Renters:
Los Angeles County and City of Los Angeles eviction protections for inability to pay rent due to Covid-19 expire on September 30, 2021. If you cannot pay your rent, you must file a declaration of COVID-19 related financial distress form with your landlord within seven days before rent is due.
City of Los Angeles residents are also protected under the new tenant anti-harassment ordinance. This means that a tenant cannot be evicted from their residence due to unlawful harassment practices by their landlord. Read the full ordinance here.
All California residents are protected under the currently extended moratorium (due to Covid-19) through October 31, 2021.
Read this LA Times article (August 3, 2021) for information about the statewide extended eviction moratorium and protections for renters as well as dos and don’ts for City and County Los Angeles renters.
